We know that it's not enough for your custom gear to look great, it has to be comfortable and perfrom when you are training and competing. We make sure that we only use the best fabrics, components and techniques to make Ultimo custom gear.

Digital Sublimation Printing

All Ultimo custom gear is printed using digital sublimation printing. This allows all-over printing with the following advantages over screen printing or iron-on printing:

  • Unlimited colour - our digital printer can print any number of colours, so we can accuarately reproduce logos & club colours.
  • No extra cost for more colours - it doesn't matter if you have one or one hundred colours on your gear.
  • Complex designs - we can print at very high resolution, so designs can be complex without ink "bleed". Effects like colour gradients are possible.
  • Moisture management - the technical aspects of our fabrics are maintained - the print area does not affect the moisture management or breathability of the fabric.
  • Durability - sublimation printing means that we print into the fabric, not on top of it, meaning colourfast print that lasts.

Chamois

The chamois (padding) in cycle shorts is arguably the most important component to ensure a comfortable and healthy ride. After searching the world and testing chamois with numerous elite cyclists ,we chose the Italian=made Cytecxh 3D chamois with soft microfibre moisture-wicking fabric  Elastic Interface Technology.

Cytech's Elastic Interface Technology is designed to ensure maximum comfort, freedom of movement on the saddle, protection of sensitive areas and optimum breathability to transport moisture.

Fabric

At Ultimo we pride ourselves in selecting the best fabric for technical performance and print reporduction. You can read about some of our fabrics here.

Coolmesh 

Our cycle jerseys, running tees, singlets, and polo shirts are made with Coolmesh, a 100% hi-tech multifilament polyester. The moisture management system and multifilament technology draws moisture away from the skin to the outer surface, where it quicklys evaporates, leaving your skin dry, cool, and comfortable. The multifilament yarn is soft in contrast to the coarse and harsher polyester substitutes used by others.

Coolmesh has SPF 50+ sun protection rating.

Gavia

Gavia is a new warp-knitted bielastic brushed polyester-elastine fabric, used in Ultimo's arm and leg warmers. It is a warm, stretchy fabric that has moisture management properties, and is by far the best fabric we have seen for this use. It comes from the same Italian mill that produces Super-Roubaix fabric.

Zips

We make sure that Ultimo garments have zips that are reliable, are long enough for easy use, and where possible are hidden, to maximise the impact of your design. 

Our cycle jerseys feature 3/4-length hidden zips as standard - with no extra charge.

Our jackets and vests feature full length visible YKK zips.

Ultimo custom cycle clothing features YKK zips - you can be assured that the zip on your garment has been made by the recognised leader in zip fastener technology.

Sizing

A fully printed garment that doesn't fit is no good for anyone. Sizing charts can give you an idea of size, but only by trying garments on can you be sure that your custom gear will be the best fit. 

We supply sizing samples for you to try on before we make your gear. This way you can be sure that when your custom gear arrives, it will be a good fit.
